Skullcandy x Burton Push Active True Wireless Earbuds Tech Review
In a sea of earbuds where do the Skullcandy X Burton Push Active True Wireless Earbuds stand. Let’s see if they can handle my Jacked & Juicy Lifestyle.
Earbuds are an important part of my everyday carry. In fact, I typically carry around at least 2 different sets of earbuds. One pair is for casual listening and the other has to go with me to the gym. I’m fairly picky when it comes to sound and build quality so I tend to be pretty picky when it comes to an earbud purchase. The limited edition Skullcandy x Burton Push Active pair caught my eye and Skullcandy is known for a punchy sound so I decided to give these a go.
The look and feel live up to Skullcandy’s reputation, I’m obsessed with the leopard orange pink gradient colors. The hard case is the same color and the build quality is legit. The case charges via USB-C and feels pretty sturdy at the price point and provides 44 hours of total battery. The earbuds themselves are IP55 sweat and water resistant which make them great for my sweaty gym sessions.
Like most Skullcandy bluetooth wireless earbuds, these guys come with a handy dandy app... which we won’t really cover here. Quick summary, the app isn’t quite as robust as I’d like it to be. The Skull iQ technology is very interesting and the eq options are pretty basic. Overall, the app is nice. The ability to locate my earbuds when I misplace them with the app is awesome.
Sounds quality falls inline with what you’d expect at this price point. Good mids, clear highs, but the low end is lacking a bit. Which isn’t a deal breaker for me but it would have been nicer to get a little more bass kick with an active earbud. Previously I’ve used Apple Beats earbuds and those do an incredible job on the low end and offer a significant job in the noise cancelling category. The Skullcandy True Active does not currently provide any noise-cancelling options.
As far as fit, these earbuds feel amazing. The gentle hook around the ear and the fit is great. Skullcandy has gotten high marks lately for its ergonomic and sturdy designs. I’m a big fan of the comfort level and have been using these for months now and remain impressed with the fit.
So do I recommend the Skullcandy X Burton Push Active True Wireless Earbuds? Yes, I feel good recommending a sturdy set of earbuds that can handle my jacked & juicy lifestyle. And at their current price of $53.99 US they are absolutely worth it.
So my question to you is “how many pairs of earbuds do you currently use?”
